Chantelle Gotobed

Ethnic heritage: British Biracial (Jamaican mother)

Training: Royal Ballet School, 1995

Ballet career: Chantelle is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. Born in Buckinghamshire, Chantelle trained at the Royal Ballet School from the age of nine, starting with the Junior Associate programme. She then joined the Royal Ballet Lower School, White Lodge, progressing through to the Royal Ballet Upper School graduating from there in 2006.

As a dancer Chantelle has worked with The Royal Ballet Company, Ballet Black, Northern Ballet, New English Ballet Theatre and Matthew Bourne New Adventures. In these companies she has worked with established choreographers such as Matthew Bourne, Liam Scarlett, William Tuckett and had a pas de deux created for her by Christopher Marney.

Creative career: Chantelle has performed in various productions including works with Akram Khan. As well as ballet, Chantelle has also featured in corporate and fashion campaigns for companies such as HSBC, Samsung, SKY, Adidas, and Footlocker to name a few. Chantelle also choreographs pieces for events, including choreographing for a Commonwealth celebration event in London. Off stage, Chantelle enjoys coaching and teaching ballet to all ages and abilities.
