Training: Northern Ballet School
Ballet career: Jay Skeete-Lee trained at the Northern Ballet School in the 1980s. She went on to study for her teaching qualifications at the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Dance Teachers. She was also offered a full scholarship to attend the Ailey School and the Dance Theatre of Harlem school.
Skeete-Lee danced with the Hudson Rep Ballet, Kansas State Rep and Contemporary Ballet Theatre in New York. She founded Rahway Dance Theatre in 1996 in a church basement. Since her sad passing in 2020, former student Ms Armanii is the current Artistic Director of the school.
